Applying which floor tiles with interior furniture is a challenge thing not only to architects but also to the project end-users cause there are so many choice at market now. Funtionality, aesthetics and economic aspect are three factors put as the priority when the Vietnam Architect Magazine office is in improvement process.
Visiting the office of 40 m2 in a small area at 40 Tang Bat Ho, Pham Dinh Ho Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi, you will join a space of contemporary style.
Before rearranging the old office, the office owner's requirement is to create a space with minimalist and comfort structure, having the area for tea-dringking, utilizing the location at the 3rd floor with two facades with the natural light.
The most challenging to the architect is this is an old office with wall panal divided, next to the toilets and the floor of ungrading tiles. To solve this, the architects agreed on selecting the conformity theme of basic colour, break the wall panel and building glassy panel and windows.
After completing the project, this has changed the atmosphere of the whole office with fresher and more lively space thank to the larger space with full light and good feel of difference between areas of working, tea-drinking and for break time. This also bring the comfort and tidiness for the office.
To the floor, a very important part of this project, it is the most changing thing. The architect has replaced the ceramic tiles in small size with two tones and shiny surface to glazed porcelain tiles in bigger size (60x60 cm), dark grey, matt surface – a kind of tiles in minimalist style.
This is a smart choice and in world trendy. The tiles in porcelain ensures the high durability for the project because it has the certification from different test results for its strengthness and stain. Moreover it comes from the world-class production of Prime Group hence it helps the project owner to save construction cost and create a perfect flatness after tiling.
